Continuous section break/next page

Solved

Hello,
When I choose a "continuous section break," WORD 2010 stubbornly moves to the next page instead of continuing the text on the same page.

I encountered this problem for a series of articles, each with its own set of footnotes, but grouped in the same file. What I'm trying to achieve is for the footnotes to restart at "1" for each article and not to continue from the previous articles' notes.

(Note: the menu I used is found in the "Page Layout" tab, under the "Page Break" submenu, which also offers the options for "next page" and "continuous" section breaks).

Did I make a mistake somewhere? How can I fix this?

Thank you in advance for your advice.
Jacques

A simple solution in Word 2011 for Mac (I think it's equivalent in Windows): Go to Preferences / Compatibility, then in "Recommended options for" choose "Word for the Macintosh 5.x" and you're good to go. Indeed, Word 5.1 did not have this issue!
