American Megatrends boot issue

Hello,

I can't start my desktop computer anymore; at startup it locks on:

American Megatrends
Press DEL to run setup
Press 4 to activate ACC function
Press F8 for BBS POPUP
Press ALT+F2 to execute ASUS E2 flash 2

etc. AT THE END USB DEVICE OVER CURRENT STATUS DETECTED
System will shut down after 15 seconds

Last week I removed the Platinum Security virus — could that be related?
Thanks a lot for your help since whatever I do, the computer shuts down

    Try to start without it, she might have a problem.
    Apparently the BIOS is talking about an issue with a defective USB device: "usb dEVICE OVER CURRED STATUS DETECTEC"

    I found out what the problem is, man, I had a USB port that stopped working and it told me that my computer would restart after 15 seconds. I just created an account to reply to you. On your motherboard you have several wires connected... One or more, in my case I had 3... You just have to remove one of these wires that burned out... And your Windows restarts like new... I’m super happy, I’ve been looking for the solution for a week...

    Hello,

    Sorry for the delay. I just tried to turn the PC back on again with no USB plugged in, and the computer shows the same message.

    I just noticed that one of my USB ports is broken: my USB plug snapped off and I recovered the little piece of black plastic with shiny sides.

    So what should I do please, I’m not knowledgeable about computers.

    Where is the broken USB port located?
    There must be a short circuit inside.

    Are there metal slips/lamellae that touch each other or that touch the edge of the USB port? That would explain everything.
