Hello,
I am using the ECR 69XX utility provided on the Olivetti website.
When I try to program my cash register by selecting (Program a new cash register), I receive the message "PRG-MODE-FILE cannot be opened."
If I try (Update the programming of the cash register), I receive the message "The USB-COM port cannot be opened."
I have retrieved the driver from the source folder after installing the utility.
The cash register is in the Off position when I attempt these actions.
And I have tried 2 USB cables.
I hope I have been clear and look forward to a quick response.
Thank you.

Hello,
I am new to the ECR6920F. I installed the driver as you described, but I can't send information to the cash register from the computer. I always get an error message "programming sending failed."
The user manual is incomprehensible. Can someone explain the difference between department and PLU? Why do I need to enter a price in the departments?
Thank you, I am open to any information about this machine.

I also have the same USB connection problem, so I had to program everything using the register's keyboard itself. Now there’s a new issue... I programmed the PLU ranges 1-42, 201-242, 301-342 which are default associated with pages 1, 2, 3, respectively. Although the ranges 1-42 and 301-342 work without issue, 201-242 triggers an error message and is not referenced in the PLU programming report (40). Nevertheless, if I try to re-enter them, they are already registered!!
Genius ideas are welcome... the price/functionality ratio of the register is excellent, but the support...

Hello everyone, there is no problem, you just need to manually install the driver located at C:\OLIVETTI_ECR_UTILITY_69xx.
The procedure is as follows:
go to Device Manager and right-click on the device that has the yellow triangle with the exclamation mark. In the driver section, click on update driver and do not perform an automatic search, select the manual option and then show the path to follow: C:\OLIVETTI_ECR_Utility_69xx\Driver\Vista (32bit) or Vista_7_X64 (64bit)
Click ok and that's it. There will be a Windows alert message that you should ignore. I hope this will solve your problems.

Hello,
I’m having the same problem; I also called the Olivetti service and received no satisfactory response. They had me uninstall and reinstall the program and drivers, but nothing changed. The person then told me that it was due to my computer and that they had another appointment, so I quickly tested it on another PC and there was no miracle, the same problem. I’m starting to believe that it’s more likely coming from the cash register than anything else.
