Sound that only resonates through headphones

Hello,
A week ago, while I was watching an anime with my headphones on my computer, the sound started to glitch for no reason. It echoes, is choppy, and the voices seem distant. I thought the problem was with my headphones since everything goes back to normal when I unplug them, but today I decided to buy new ones and the problem persists. It's super annoying, especially since it happens all the time, no matter which player I use or if I'm on YouTube or elsewhere.
