No Wi-Fi on Asus PC running Windows 7 Solved

Hello, I just bought an Asus X93SV -YZ10 12M laptop and I'm unable to connect. My wireless network (Freebox V6) is not detected. I tried to create a new connection, I manually entered the IP and DNS but nothing works. I've consulted various posts but haven't found a solution, plus I'm new to Windows 7, so I'm struggling! If someone could help me out, I would greatly appreciate it because I can't wait to enjoy my new device. Thank you in advance.

Configuration: Windows XP / Firefox 7.0.1

Have you checked if there is a key on your laptop's keyboard to activate the wifi? I know that on the EEE PC notebook, you have to press the "fn" key written in blue and another key near F3 or F4, so check that.

There must surely be a light that indicates whether the wifi function is active or not.

Hey

Have you checked in your "Freebox management interface" if the WiFi option is actually activated?

To do this, go to free.fr, log into your account, and click on "manage my internet services". You should find "Configure my Freebox WiFi network", click on that, then check the box "enable", and then you need to give a name to your network, "ReiMS" (I think if you don't use this name it won't work) respecting uppercase and lowercase letters.
Then further down, check "WPA (TKIP + AES)" (recommended).
And finally, further down, generate a key, which you will copy (ctrl+c) and paste (ctrl+V) into Notepad or WordPad and save it, so you can keep it safe just in case.

You will need to retype this key in your connection tool (I don't know what you're using, but still...).

If it still doesn't work, you need to check if your WiFi is enabled on your laptop, see if there's a key that allows you to enable it.

There you go, try that first and let me know.

Hello, thank you for your quick response. I have a desktop PC that works (the one I'm using to send you this message) and the Wi-Fi is working perfectly. So I don't think there's a need to change the configuration on my Free account. Best regards, Gérard.

Hello, the solution says to press the Fn and F2 keys together
However, in my case, nothing happens and the Wi-Fi light on my Asus Windows 7 is not responding, I've searched everywhere to activate it without using the keyboard, but nothing works.
Do you have any suggestions?
