Good For Laptops

You need to have the FN key, ALT key, and the numeric keypad located under the letters , ?JKLUIO

so far so good

well then I don’t know about you but my keyboard is a bit finicky so I recommend:

1- first press FN
2- then continue holding FN while pressing ALT
3- Type the combination you want, well I still don’t know about you but as far as I’m concerned if I do FN ALT 12 I have to keep 1 and 2 pressed down (first 1 and then 2 but always keep 1 pressed)
4- then release FN and ALT at the same time
5- finally release the number(s) at the same time

and normally it works (as for me the combination FN ALT 11 doesn’t work ^^ )
Well I admit it’s a bit of a headache but it works!

You open start==> run==>cmd==>eudcedit

In eudcedit you can create and modify your characters by giving the code of your choice.

I often use the shortcuts with 4 digits as you advised me (for example, for accented capitals like É or È).
In fact, my request was motivated for the following reason:
having keyboards where the most frequent letters, E, A, S, etc., were almost worn out, I found adhesive label sheets to remedy this inconvenience.
But the keys C, R, and T have a second symbol (©, ®, and ™)
just like the E key which has the € sign. I would have liked to use these keys the same way with Alt GR + letter.
But I think that this is not possible. I will therefore consider my problem solved and thank you again for your input.

start, programs, accessories, system tools, character map
From there, you should have all the symbols according to the font you are using (Arial, Comic Sans MS...)

Well, I had the same problem as you, but actually, we can copy/paste for the usernames on MSN: you just use the keys: CTRL+C to copy and CTRL+V to paste, so there you go, you copy your letter and you use CTRL+V every time... it's a bit long but it's worth it...
