Hello,
Two months ago, I sent my PC for repair because my hard drive was starting to fail. I then had to reinstall Windows. However, the technician kept the old Windows file and copied it onto my hard drive. But it is very large, and I want to delete it since it's no longer useful to me. However, when I try to delete it, a warning message appears informing me that if I delete the file "Bootstat.dat," Windows or one of its components might not work anymore. Does it make any difference if I delete it (considering it's my old Windows folder)?
Thank you for your answers,
Configuration: Windows Vista / Safari 534.24

The date files are not system files. I believe they are used for some kind of archiving.
The message you receive is because it finds hidden files and files that have the same name as those on your system.
What you can do for more security: Move them to partition D: if you have one, or to an external hard drive.
If it refuses, start in safe mode (F8 at startup) and make the move.
