Create an alphabet book on Word

The problem with the dropdown menu is that we have to lock the sheet.

Do you have any other solutions that meet my needs?

What do you want to hide or show?
And what do you want a dropdown for? letters or names, or both?

I am also thinking of something else in Word that would be clickable but not in a dropdown. There is also another tutorial from m@rina on faqword for creating a dropdown based on another one with a macro
But actually, I don't see exactly what you want.

The goal would be to only see the letters a-b-c-..... and when you click on them, to display the words associated with them.

From what I've understood, this is not feasible, so I'm turning towards creating a dropdown list with hyperlinks.

But I'm also struggling; if you have a method?

No, a drop-down list does not take a hyperlink.

But since you’re willing to navigate Excel now, have you looked at the file that Eric prepared for you above?
You just need to type the alpha letter in the button of cell A, and the corresponding names of the alphabet letter will automatically display below. It does exactly what you ask, without the drop-down list.

You have a ready-made tool there: all that’s left is to feed it and decorate it as you wish :)
