Hello,
I need to print a document in A6 booklet format on an A4 printer (capable of double-sided printing) so that by cutting (one way or another) the printed pages and then folding them together, I can obtain the desired booklet.
I understand that you can manually arrange the pages like this:
front
2 7
4 5
back
8 1
6 3
but this method requires a lot of work and forces you to start over completely whenever you modify the text. Moreover, my document has a large number of pages, which makes handling even more difficult.
PDF allows you to do this by going from A5 to A4; how can it be done going from A6 to A4?
Is there an option or software that could do this, preferably at the time of printing?
I would like to specify that I am using Microsoft Word 2007 and I have no knowledge of programming or using macros.
Thank you in advance for your help,
Configuration: Windows Vista / Firefox 3.6.16

It won't look like a professional presentation made with a layout software designed for that, but there's a trick..
Printing via a PDF printer allows you to put 4 pages on each sheet (this can be found either in the driver or in the "scale/multiple pages per sheet" option in Acrobat "Reader" printing window)
When doing the first PDF print from Word, you need to set the page sequence so that when doing the second PDF print from Acrobat, the pages correspond to the layout for making your booklet..
It should also work by defining the page sequence from Word... the intermediate step might be easier for moving pages with software like Split-and-Merge.

In Word:
-FILE => Page Setup => Paper => A6 then confirm
Then
-FILE => Print => Properties=> Setup: Two-sided: BOOKLET
-Check the box BOOKLET IN REDUCTION
And all you have to do is print, simple and effective!!!
