Hello,

Configuration: Windows 7 / Firefox 3.6.13

AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME

when I turned on my computer this morning a yellow and black NORTON image appeared

on my screen????

there was also a thumbnail in my taskbar

I right-clicked on this thumbnail to find out its origin: the blue verified publisher

display appeared; the image was not very clear but maybe because the other NORTON image was

already on my screen....I don’t understand anything, I don’t have NORTON and have never

downloaded it....it offers to do a free scan ???? AS I KNOW that on

the internet nothing is ever really "free" I am wondering...

the only thing I occasionally download is an online scan with NOD

32 ....

I obviously did not launch anything with this download that I did not request!!!!!

thank you for your response

    Hello,
You may have installed Norton without realizing it.
    Let me explain:
Some software offers to install Norton when they are installed or updated. That might be where it comes from.
I believe that when you update Shockwave (or Flash Player, I can't remember), it offers to install Norton.

not sure that my last flash update was a week ago

      however, what is surprising

is that I do have the blue image of VERIFIED PUBLISHER???

      THANK YOU

It must be Norton Security Scan...
It's offered for installation with various programs...

As is the case with McAfee Security Scan: https://forum.malekal.com/viewtopic.php?t=29534&start=
    (or toolbars)

    These programs can be uninstalled....
Well, need to run some things.

      No, that's fine, thank you

      Go uninstall Norton Security Scan.

And the same comment as last time, if it came from there when you install a program, refuse everything that is offered to be installed.

      Forget about donations :)
The ads now pay for the hosting.

Send the link to secure their PC to your friends so they can do the bare minimum and it will be fine :)

    re

    thepseudokeyjustbecauseiknownothing

    as well as

    mouchy

    as well as

    carl 45

    here is what I did:

    complete analysis with malwarebites-antimalwares .....nothing

    analysis with avast ....nothing....

my opinion: I think mouchy might be right and that during my update

    flashplayer

I installed NORTON ....there are sometimes checkboxes that we overlook....

I'm still going to run an online scan with NORTON after

    doing what thepseudokeyjustbecauseiknownothing advises me

because verified publisher is still verified by windows or microsoft...

    I don't remember?

    thank you
