Hard Drive History

Hello,

I think our backup drive has been connected to another computer and that some folders/files may have been copied (and stolen) to that other computer.

How can I check this? Is there a way to see the usage history of an external hard drive?

Thank you

Configuration: Windows XP / Firefox 3.6.13

Do you physically have the disk to examine with you?
It should be noted that there is always a trace of deleted files or those that have passed through the disk. It is possible to find out through data recovery that will be done by certain software or by a professional.
The thing is that it can be either long, or expensive, or ineffective...

In short, unless you have sensitive data such as for a business, medical files, legal documents, bank records, etc., it's hardly worth it...

Yes, I have the HDD with me.

It's sensitive data from my company.
I really need to know if someone has stolen documents and information.
I know the date and that the person is using a MAC.

    See you later.

So go check in a store for data recovery.
However, I recommend that you make a full backup of your drive occasionally and do it on a hard medium (like Blu-ray).

I am looking for free software that would allow me to check myself.
    Thank you.

You're a pro, you told me, right?
If you're a pro, you know that you should let the pros do their job and not pretend to be a great guru of occult sciences :)

Google is your friend if you want to dabble in it, but know that if you try something, the pro might not be able to fix your mess afterwards...

Is it that complicated to see if my hard drive was connected to a Mac on a given date?

I've already looked on Google and I'm on this forum to get reliable and effective information.

    Thank you.

You can always try to see if any files were modified on a specific date using the Windows search function; at least that way you won't risk making a mistake.
