Twain Source Scanner Not Found

Happy New Year everyone:
I spent hours trying to understand and fix it, but no luck: I can't get my Canon 4200f scanner to work anymore.
I downloaded the latest drivers, reinstalled everything, rebooted multiple times. Nothing works, every time it tells me it can't find my TWAIN driver. It seems to be able to communicate with the scanner, though, via the Scangear utility.
All this ever since I switched to Vista and now to Windows 7.
I ended up buying an old scanner at a flea market as a temporary solution.
If anyone has an idea, they will have my eternal gratitude.

Finally, I found something that worked on a forum:
- copy the .inf CNQ4200 file into windows/twain_32
- add the path of this file to the PATH environment variable, accessible by right-clicking on the desktop (or Computer), then through advanced settings;
- I had to reinstall the Toolbox on top of that.
Anyway, it worked.
Eureka!

Hello,

You say: “Copy the .inf CNQ4200 file into windows/twain_32. But where can we find this file?
And on which forum did you find this because it could help.
Thank you.
Regards.
