split screen!! Solved

Question

Hello,

my laptop (Medion, Windows Vista) starts up, the screen is divided in half (with a horizontal white line in the middle), so there are two mice, two identical interfaces; then before showing the desktop, there was a "blue screen", restart and so on when I try to install the graphics card driver! Basically, it doesn't accept it and I don't know what other suitable solutions like drivers and others?
At first, I could restore the screen by going into the BIOS, but nothing works anymore, I've tried everything, even formatting the machine... but the screen remains divided despite the good functioning of my PC, as it works just fine! But a PC with a screen and two identical interfaces is totally nonsense... Does anyone have a solution after having the same problem?? Thank you for helping me please...

Hmm, if you right-click on the desktop, then personalize, you will likely find the display settings for your PC somewhere, including those for your graphic card.

On that front, look carefully, you should have something to fix the issue. There is a feature to assign multiple screens to the same PC, and I think there’s a good chance the solution to your problem is found there.

The screen split in two is not very clear. You're talking about two interfaces, but do you have a Windows on each screen, or is it just your split screen showing the same thing twice?

Well, thank you dear ckvtdn, it's true that it's also difficult for me to explain! I'm not very technical, 'o) Actually, it's a Medion laptop that works really well, very fast and responsive! But its only problem is that it messes up with the screen. One day, all of a sudden, when I turned it on, I found the screen separated in two and they are both the same! Basically, simply when you turn on the laptop, you see the image, the original wallpaper of the laptop or the one you set in the past with the icons and taskbar! Well, I have everything doubled; the original screen is divided in two by a fine vertical white line and I end up with two identical screens! I can see everything clearly, but it's duplicated and squished, but enough to read and work! In fact, I'm replying to you with this PC! I'm convinced it's the graphics card, but it doesn't accept anything and stays at the base resolution of 800x600 pixels! I don't know what else to do!? Can you help me or someone else.... thousand thanks

Hello again,Additional information: when I go to "Display settings" on Monitor, I only see one screen listed as 1! Previously, I had two, one smaller... under "default screen," it states "on Standard VGA graphics card" and as already mentioned, the resolution remains at 800 by 600 pixels. No conflicts, the driver is C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\vgapnp.sys, and when I try to update it, after restarting, I get a black screen and then a blue screen, and everything goes back to the start, but my screen remains split. In the BIOS, there’s nothing I can do, so I leave it as is after resetting to default settings because nothing changes there either? That's it, feel free to ask me questions if I can answer them!?Thank you all....

Besides the display settings, I have nothing else of what you're writing, and in the display settings, I don't know how to do anything; everything is fixed, nothing moves as I already wrote! However, I can go into the advanced settings, but even there, nothing changes the problem!

Hi, I have a DV 9000 laptop with an NVIDIA GeForce 840 MGS graphics card and a system running XP Pack 2, and it was working very well until one day the machine crashed. When I restarted, it displayed two similar screens with two mice. However, when I unplug the laptop screen and connect my desktop screen, it doesn’t show two screens or two mice. I strongly suspect the graphics card, but it's integrated into the motherboard of my laptop. So, I'm also looking for an answer to this. Thank you.

I also have a similar problem with my HP notebook, but I think my issue comes from the fact that it's the humid season here and that machines bought in Europe are not tropicalized :s
it's a shame ... for me
I'll have to find a laptop in New Zealand or Australia ;)
or only use my HP during the hot season :s
