Convert .ps to .mp3

Hello, I'm looking to convert audio files with the file extension ps to mp3. Are there any free programs that can perform this task?

    Convert a .ps file to .mp3 using VLC

    To do this, you first need to download VLC Media Player (version 1.1.4) from the following address:
    Download VLC

    Then, after installation:
    * 1. Media Menu => Convert/Save
    * 2. Click on add => select the .ps file you want to convert
    * 3. Click on convert / save
    * 4. In the window that appears, choose the destination path for the audio file that you will name xxxx.mp3, then click on the "settings" icon (first icon at the bottom)
    * 5. In the window that opens, in the "Encapsulation Method" tab, choose = Wav.
    * 6. in the Audio Codecs tab, choose from the dropdown menu = MP3 then select the bitrate (s16l at 128 kbits/sec or 192 kbits/sec (channels = 2 for stereo))
    * 7. Click on "Save" then "Start"
    * 8. Your file will then be saved in the destination directory you specified in MP3 format.

      Hello! I've tried your method several times, but the file keeps converting back to .ps.
      Is there an explanation or another solution?

      PS: I have version 1.1.5, could it be related to that? :s

      the file name must be XXX.mp3 even if the file is already indicated as saved in mp3
