Word Startup Issue (WINWORD.EXE)

Hello,
I have a problem opening WORD: a window appears with:
ERROR: Winword.exe - Incorrect Image
The application or the DLL C:.................dll is not a valid Windows image. Check with your installation disk
and it keeps repeating without opening the application.
How can I fix the problem?

Every time I try to open Word or a file in Word, I get two messages:
1) Cannot assign the name of an existing menu to the new menu.
2) The command cannot be executed because a dialog box is open. Click OK, then close the open dialog boxes to continue.

However, I visibly have no menus, files, or anything else open.
I have of course uninstalled and reinstalled Office XP, but the problem persists.

In my opinion, you just have to reinstall it lol.

This problem was already raised by someone else in 2007, but I couldn’t find an answer.
