There are certainly flaws, and I'm not here to defend the anti-piracy systems that ruin my life as well. All I can say or cite here is the result of my technical readings on various websites found on the Internet. What I can also say is that specialists are keeping a close eye, and many habits we've taken will disappear with digital technology. The HDCP protocol is well designed in this respect, where a device connected to another for playback via HDMI (like a player to a television, for example) requires a license or validation from the manufacturer (otherwise it won't play), and the HDMI connection won't occur. Moreover, if you read some of the other posts in the forum, you'll see that certain brands of TVs mentioned have serious firmware issues with the HDMI connection (green images, or unexplained sound dropouts, etc.)
