PS3 Update: Data is Corrupted

Question

Good evening,

I replaced the 80GB HDD of my PlayStation 3 with a 500GB HDD, I also connected a USB drive (FAT32) with the update file "PS3UPDAT.PUP" that I downloaded from the official site in F:\PS3\UPDATE\. At the first start, apparently, the console formats automatically, but now it says "the system software cannot function properly. Press the PS button to try to restart the system. If the system cannot be restarted this way, the system partition of the hard drive must be reformatted and you will need to reinstall the system software. Connect a storage media containing update data for version 3.21 or later, then press the start and select buttons simultaneously," so I press PS, it restarts but the same message keeps appearing. So I press start and select at the same time, it says "checking..." and then after a while "The data is corrupted. (8002F225)," I look online and see that someone else had a similar issue, they changed their USB drive and it worked, so I changed the USB drive and even redownloaded the PS3UPDAT.PUP file: still the same problem!
Can someone please help me?

It's all good, I found it. So for those who encounter this, I searched the internet and came across an English forum https://forums.afterdawn.com/threads/xmb-doesnt-load-after-installing-new-hdd.682960/
So I simply created my path PS3\UPDATE\ with the file "PS3UPDATE.PUP" in the UPDATE folder and burned it to a CD. Apparently, the console struggles with USB keys!
However, on the official PlayStation site, the update 3.21 is named "PS3UPDAT.PUP" and I've seen that in some tutorials they call it "PS3UPDATE.PUP", so rather than risk messing up a CD, I included both files PS3UPDAT.PUP and PS3UPDATE.PUP, so it's up to the console to choose!

So I thought they might have made a mistake in the file name, so I added an "E" in "PS3UPDAT.PUP", which gives "PS3UPDATE.PUP", and then it tells me that no applicable update has been detected, and that I need to connect a removable disk...
Even though there is indeed the file with the correct address and the case is properly respected!

I have the same problem, and apparently found the solution:

The issue comes from update 3.56, indeed (at least for my part) my old 40GB HDD was already on 3.56, but if you check the old HDD you will see that you can update to 3.56 via XBM.... yes I know 3.56 to 3.56... let's not delve into it.
Anyway, so you do the update on the old HDD via the internet, and then put the new HDD back with the 3.56 update downloaded onto the USB (which you grabbed from the official site)
And there you go

The issue comes from the fact that the console must be exactly on the same version and that Sony played a little trick on us with several 3.56.

I have another problem. I downloaded the update 3.55-kmeaw and placed it in the UPDATE folder. I plug the USB stick into the PS3, look for the update, find it, and it works perfectly. I accept the agreement and everything, but when it gets to 72%, it tells me the data is corrupted :/ One day it even got to 99% and then it said the data is corrupted (8002F828). What should I do for the update to work?

Me too, same problem, it gets stuck at 72%, nothing works, I've formatted everything and still the same issue.
