Sometimes they make mistakes too; I've often received important emails marked as potentially dangerous. Just look at the subject of the message and the recipient; if it's someone you know, there are no risks. ;)

Which software (or website) do you use to manage your emails?

    Hello,

If it's on Hotmail messaging, it means the recipient is unknown or dangerous!

    See you later

This is a message that your inbox has detected as phishing, meaning a fraudulent email pretending to be from an institution you can trust in order to steal your personal information (such as your credit card number, for example).

In general, as "Green Day" said
The red messages with a cross signify dangerous or unknown emails.

    Hoping to have helped you.
