It's all in the title.
Actually, I use an iBook. So I recently downloaded PDF files to read on it. I use an interface called "Reader Library" to transfer the PDF documents from my PC to my iBook.
Unfortunately, while some works have no issues (title + author are spot-on), others are more troublesome.
Examples: titles and/or authors that are complete nonsense (sometimes just the name of the guy who uploaded it online).

It is difficult to modify a PDF file but not impossible. You can do it online on this site (in French): https://www.pdfescape.com/. It does not allow you to erase text directly, but you can create white areas (to erase) and you can write freely, for example. You can then save your work by downloading this file as a PDF.
