Hello,
I have a YAMAHA RX-V465 amplifier, and recently, due to an unintentional action from my remote control, I now see the display "Decoder Off" and then "PCM" when using my amplifier with a source connected via HDMI (for example: my Freebox on HDMI2, my PC on HDMI3).
I had never seen this message before, and I believe I used to have something like "7ch Enhanced" or something along those lines. In any case, I did not have "PCM". Nor did I see "Decoder Off" when selecting, for instance, HDMI3 on the amplifier before my PC was turned on (since in my setup, HDMI3 is connected to the PC).
As a result, with this darn "PCM" configuration, the sound quality is not at its best :-((((((
I've gone through the menus and options of the Yamaha, and I haven't found how to change this.
HELP Please !!
Thank you for your help.

Hello
Thank you for your quick response. But I have a misunderstanding: you talk about an analog signal that would come into my amplifier, however, all my sources are digital (PC, DVD player, Freebox), and all connected via HDMI to my Yamaha amplifier. In this case, if all my signals are digital, why resort to the PCM format?
What surprises me too is that I had never had this famous PCM activated before...
Then, I can't find in the Yamaha menu how to access the PCM option... :-(( Do you have any idea?
Thank you for your insights!!
