PC stuck on 640x480 screen resolution

Hello,
I use my PC every day for work.
Today, it switched to a resolution of 640x480 and 16-bit colors.
I'm unable to switch it back to a different config: I went to: control panel; display; settings, and I can't move the resolution slider or the colors.
I tried restarting the PC and turning it off and then back on. Nothing works.
I ran an anti-spyware scan (with Ad-Aware SE Personal) and a virus scan. I'm not infected.
If you know how to set the resolution back to something decent so I can work, feel free to write to me at superpieric@yahoo.fr
