What is network discovery?

Network discovery is a network setting that determines whether your computer can see (find) other computers and devices on the network and whether other computers on the network can see yours.

There are three states of network discovery:

Enabled

This state allows your computer to display other computers and devices on the network and allows users of other computers on the network to see your computer. This makes it easier to share files and printers.

Disabled

This state prevents your computer from displaying other computers and devices on the network and prevents users of other computers on the network from seeing your computer.

Customized

Network locations
