Hello everyone,
I tried to install USB Loader on my Wii but for that, I need to format my hard drive to WBFS. I used this site:
https://www.papygeek.com/hacking/usb-loader-vos-jeux-wii-sur-disque-dur/

I performed the following actions:
1) Manipulate an external USB hard drive from Windows

It is possible to use Windows applications to prepare the hard drive for the Wii and even to directly copy ISO files.

If you haven't used USB Loader to prepare your hard drive, you can do it from Windows. Right-click on My Computer, then choose Manage -> Storage -> Disk Management.

Right-click on your USB hard drive and then "Delete Partition". Then do "New Partition" -> "Primary Partition" -> Choose a drive letter and select "Do not format this partition".

On WBFS manager: Once the application is launched, select your drive letter on the left and then click on "Format".

After that, I unplugged the hard drive, but now when I plug it back in, the PC no longer detects it, it is no longer present. (I tried plugging it into other PCs but the problem remains the same).

Note: It is empty
Information about the external hard drive: Iomega 80GB
Configuration: Windows XP Firefox 3.0.14

Hello, I have a 1TB hard drive that I partitioned into 2. One is in FAT32 for my TV modem so I can use it as a recorder, and the other is in WBFS. The modem works fine, but the Wii doesn't find the second partition, which is in WBFS. Before I wanted to partition it, it worked very well in WBFS. Is there a solution for the Wii to detect "the second hard drive"?

Hello,

This is a modification of the WII system, it is against the rules.

You should take a look at this

I believe that the USB loader and using the hard drive for purchasing games in the store is legal.

What I read on your link, with the modification of homebrew, makes me think that the use is illegal, but I am gathering information; that's why it's still open.

Of course it's legal! By constantly handling our CDs, they're all scratched, they don't play well, the Wii has a hard time reading them, etc!

We rip them, we read them from a hard drive, and we store the CDs in the cupboard; they'll stay mint, and on top of that, it loads way faster!

Modifying all or part of the hardware or software infringes on the intellectual property of the Japanese giant. So, of course, having fun manipulating even a single line in the WII's code is illegal. Don't scratch the DVDs, preserve the lens... Come on, enough joking. No one is fooled. At least not me!

the first partition must be that of the Wii (wbfs)
