Hello everyone,

Over the years I have become quite wary regarding emails from people who are not in my contacts, and today I am suspicious, perhaps unjustly, of an email I just received! Can you give me your opinion?

It is in response to an email I sent to one of my contacts. The sender's name is correct (that of my contact), but the address has changed: antispam12@mailinblack.com

Here is the content of the email:

Hello,

Our security and anti-spam policy requires that an external sender be recognized for their messages to be accepted.
You are receiving this message because it is the very first time you are sending me an email.

To ensure that your messages are forwarded to me, I invite you to simply click here

This identification only needs to be done once. All future messages from you will reach me directly.
Thank you for joining us in the fight against spam.

Best regards." Signed off with the name of my contact.

The company Mailinblack really exists (I checked), the email interface looks professional (logo, etc.), but how can I know if it is not a spam, phishing, or something else... using my contact's name and the company’s visual identity?
I would also add that initially, the content of the email was blocked by Hotmail's anti-spam service!

Can I click on the link safely? Because, if the email is legitimate, my contact must not have received mine!

Thank you in advance for your answers! Configuration: Windows XP
Firefox 3.0.13
