Aéro Windows 7 - Install Driver

Solved

Hi,
I have a problem, I downloaded Windows 7, but I can't enable Aero. After searching on the Internet, I saw that I needed to update my driver.

And that's the problem, I can't do it :(.
Let me explain, I have an NVIDIA GeForce 8400 M GT GPU, and when I go to the NVIDIA website for the driver, I can't install it because I don't have any driver, so I can't update it.

So, if anyone has a solution, I'm open to suggestions :).

See you soon

Hi,
I tried, but according to them, my driver is up to date, but that is not the case.

nVidia Corporation G86 [GeForce 8400M GT]
Installed drivers:
Manufacturer: nVidia Corporation | INF file: display.inf | Class: display | Version: 6.1.7100.0 | Date: 06/21/2006

The version dates back to 2006, and since Windows 7 wasn't known back then, I doubt that nVidia actually released this driver.

Thank you for your help.

See you soon

Hello,
I tried Presence-PC, it's not the right one, because: OS: Windows XP Windows Vista, and I have Windows 7.
But I will try anyway.
For LaptopVidéo2go.Com, it's the same, it's for Windows XP/2K 32bit.

Thank you for getting back to me.

And otherwise, I saw that I need a "special" driver, released by Vaio, I searched on the site, but I can't find anything.

See you soon

Hello
go to the control panel -< performance information and tools;
look in the graph -< desktop performance for Windows Aero.
You need to have a minimum performance of 3.5 to have Aero installed!
You need to run the assessment to see the rating.
click on refresh now.
Otherwise, Aero will not install!
I tried, but my rating is insufficient, whereas it works under Vista!

but Win 7 is still just in evaluation, maybe it will come with the final version.

see Win7 index image

Vista index although it's the same configuration. funny story!

Hi,
I'm the same, I have 5.9 for Aero performance under Windows 7, ... and 1.0 under Windows 7, so it's the driver issue.

See you,

I don't feel like it's coming from the drivers,
but rather from the system itself.
I just installed the latest graphics driver from my manufacturer's site,
but no change.

Hi,
Yes, I am 99% sure that this is due to the driver because everyone who has had this problem updated their driver.

You can only use your graphics driver that's compatible with your PC.
I have Aero on Win7 but it's not the same as Vista.

Hello,

By chance, I came across a forum:

To activate Aero on Vista or Windows 7, you need to launch the command prompt as an administrator, then type "net stop uxsms", wait, and then write "net start uxsms". And restart the computer if necessary.
