Hello everyone,
I have set up an FTP server on my PC using Serv-U so that my extended family can download photos and videos.
The configuration seems to have gone smoothly, but when I try to access my brand new server from another machine (a laptop on the network) using a browser (Internet Explorer or Firefox), I can't get anywhere!
The process seems childishly simple. You type ftp://userid:password@site:port. I do that. Everything seems to work. The browser asks me for a password, and unfortunately, it's never the right one. I've cleared the password but it's asked for me every time, and I put nothing, then I try something, and it never works. What should I do?
Maybe I'm mixing everything up? Username, FTP name, domain name???
Thanks to everyone who wants to help with my problem.

Hello Yann,
You can test your FTP server locally by typing on the concerned machine:
(the port is not necessary if it's the default ports)
Your problem comes from the user configuration for FTP access.
Good luck.
