Character issue with Outlook

Question

Hello,

I use Outlook for work and this character issue is really annoying...

White squares appear when I send messages instead of: é, à, ê, ô, etc.

But even more serious, when I reply to a message a question mark appears at the top of my message...

Outlook is set up as follows:
HTML Message
Unicode UTF-8

You need to go to Outlook,
then: tools/options/mail format/international options/encoding options
and there, in the dropdown, you check: Western Europe (Windows), instead of: Western Europe (ISO), which is displayed by default.

I tried several fonts:
- Western Europe
- Central Europe (ISO and Windows)
- Unicode UTF8 and UTF7

I then sent myself emails with Outlook, each time with a different font and still those little squares + the question mark when I reply to a message....

Could it be a virus??
