Hello,

I have an exam on Tuesday and I would like to know which colors to use to make a crossover cable for a trunk, to connect two switches together.

I already know that I need 4 cables, but after that I am not quite sure which colors to choose.

Thank you in advance for your answers.

You have two sides: one is the color code of a straight cable
    the other one is crossed

    orange-white
    orange
    green-white
    blue blue-white
    green
    brown-white
    brown
    on the other side:
    green-white
    green
    orange-white
    blue
    blue-white
    orange
    brown-white
    brown

Thank you for your response Sisilia,

so if I understand correctly, I can take 2 times any pair as long as I find them on one side and then the other?

PS: Does the dot1q protocol serve for encapsulation as I believe at the time of configuring the router for the creation of sub-interfaces?
