JE PRATIQUE LE LANGAGE CLIPPER5 SOUS WINDOWS 98 AVEC ÉGALEMENT DBASE 3 ET DBOUTILS, MAIS SOUS WINDOWS XP, JE NE SAIS PAS COMMENT FAIRE.
Install Clipper5 on Windows, then type the CACI shortcut and a graphical interface will open, which will assist you not in writing a program but in creating a project. If you want to write programs yourself, you will need to work in DOS and preferably under DBase or FoxBase. (For beginners, assistance is recommended.)
Hello!
I'm looking for documentation on CLIPPER5 (dbaseIII), including initiation, syntax, etc., in PDF or DOC format.
Sorry, I can't suggest any problems right now because I want to start with this language, which will be very useful for my new job. On one hand, I don't know much about it, and on the other hand, I can't find any documentation online.
Thank you in advance for your patience.

Hello, I don't know if you still have Clipper, Dbase, and Dboutils in your possession. If so, could you please contact me by email? sarkio@hotmail.com
I am actively looking for all these tools because I am nostalgic, and on top of that, I have programs in Dbase 4 that I would like to compile.
Can Clipper 5 compile programs designed in Dbase 4 Version 2.0?
Thank you in advance

Hello sarkio@hotmail.com, I am very happy to meet you. I see that your message dated April 8, 2007, is old.
I have a database for the payroll of disabled people, but the virus messed up my computer, and I had to recover the database and install Clipper 5.0. Anyway, I would really appreciate it if you could send me Clipper 5.0 to my email z_kader74@hotmail.com.
Thank you a thousand times, Kader

Bonjour,
Meilleures salutations,
Marcel Mayeux

Dear Sir/Madam;
I read your message regarding Clipper5. I am quite surprised by your message that you managed to program in Clipper under Win XP. For my part, I have tried to figure out how to do it, and I never succeeded. The reason I am so eager to program in Clipper5 under Windows is that under DOS we are limited to 80 characters on 50 lines in base 50 with the appropriate command, which does not correspond to the project I wish to create. While under Windows, we can switch to 132 characters on 60 lines if I am not mistaken. That being said, I just want to show you my desire to continue programming in Clipper. My request is as follows: IF I AM NOT ABUSING YOUR KINDNESS AND ESPECIALLY YOUR TIME - COULD YOU LET ME KNOW HOW TO GET CLIPPER RECOGNIZED UNDER WINDOWS AND WHAT STEPS I SHOULD TAKE TO ACHIEVE THIS WITHOUT TOO MUCH STRUGGLE, GIVEN THAT I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR A WAY TO DO THIS FOR A FEW YEARS NOW.
I would be very grateful for your understanding. And who knows, in the near future, we might be able to work together on a project to create together.
Waiting for your news, please accept, Sir/Madam, the expression of my distinguished sentiments. . . Best Clipper regards to YOU!

To all programming enthusiasts under any DBMS (Clipper, Dbases, FoxBases, Paradox, Oracle, ... )
1) Know that it is important and advisable to learn to write your programs under DOS, in high-level language (syntax)
in order to best master the system (DBMS) and the complexity of your machine.
2) I suggest you use DBEDIT as an editor; and FOXBASES 2 and above for your tests before compilation.
3) For beginners, I recommend starting with DBoutils, which is excellent, as you will be assisted until the end of your application (database creation, input mask, and finally output reports). Know that, at the end, when you validate your work, this tool will generate: a database, an index file (.ndx), at least one MASTER program (.prg), a procedure program (.prc), and two programs (.frm) and (.fmt) that you will rename to (.prg) for compilation.
4) Then, under DBedit, you will make the necessary modifications (some parameters and commands, even syntax, are not accepted by Clipper), this is not a problem; the first time you try to compile, an error message will help you modify it. Try as many times as necessary; don’t get discouraged, you will succeed, and in this way, you will enter a new world and the desire to write applications will never leave you.

I program in Clipper5 and I can't configure inkjet printers and others.
I can only edit on dot matrix printers. If you can help, thank you.

Hello, I have software written in Clipper 5 and I use dbedit to print reports, but this only works for dot matrix printers. Is there a solution to configure inkjet, laser printers, etc.
(execution under Windows) launched by an icon on the desktop
Thank you

Hello my friends, I found the solution to your printing problem with USB inkjet or laser printers thanks to a software called DosPrn v1.78. You can print with any USB printer, there are no issues with this software. Regarding Clipper5 under Windows, I did say that I could work with Clipper programs under Windows but not program, and I have no problems. You need to increase files=200; you can find it in the system32 directory of Windows XP in config.nt. You need to change files=44 to files=200. For any further information, I am at your disposal.

Hello everyone
I have a payroll software that I would like to modify to adapt it to my new company where I work, and proceed as follows
- modifications to the .prg files since there is more than one file.
- compile the main file
it generates an executable that normally opens, but upon executing any command (calculating salaries, for example) the application closes with a message "error base/1001 undefined function:calcul5"
thank you in advance.
