Hello,

I would like to set up a large machine with an Asus NCCH-DL motherboard (i875P) bi-Xeon.
I would like to know which Linux distribution could manage such a motherboard considering that I plan to install 8 GB of RAM.

I want to do video editing, but resources are lacking (a Mac Pro would be welcome).

Thank you for your advice.
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 6.0

    Hello,

For servers, I would say Debian Lenny without hesitation.
Make a basic installation to check the functionality of the devices.

As for RAM, should one use a 64-bit AMD64 version or a 32-bit bigmem version to manage more than 4GB of RAM? It depends on the applications used, where you will discover the advantages and disadvantages.

Regarding video, take a look at this site: https://daat.earth/

    Best regards,

    Hello,
I have a machine with a dual processor, that is to say, two CPUs, running on a Linux platform (open SUSE 11.0). I perform calculations on it, but only one CPU is working, and this affects the computation time. Could you please help me configure both CPUs to work simultaneously?
    Thank you very much.
