Hello everyone, I have a problem of course. Could you please tell me how to convert a PNG image into an icon file? All the applications I found are tools to search for icon files on my machine, which is not what I'm looking for... I want to convert to an icon file (ICO) please. Thank you very much... rem6

If it works but you just have to do a little manipulation before renaming it to .ico
-> Open a folder
-> Click on "Tools" then on "Folder Options ..."
-> Click on the "View" tab
-> Then in the Advanced settings uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types"
-> Then rename your .JPG .BMP etc. file to .ICO and you're good to go =)
PS: Don't forget to recheck "Hide extensions for known file types"

There is no need for a converter for that, you just need to right-click with
the mouse button and then select properties, and in the
title bar of the file, change it to ........ tontitre.ico or any
extension. The best part is that it also works with movies and any other file.

no, that's not necessarily true. because even if it changes the file's identity card, it doesn't necessarily change its nature, and so this manipulation doesn't work; I've already tried it.

Well indeed, after searching, installing, etc. various programs, I realize that creating an icon with ToyCon is really quite simple. Plus, you can set it to French for those who don't know the English basics. Just choose the file type of the image by right-clicking on the cardboard box of the program, like PNG>ICO JPEG>ICO, etc., then drag the icon into it, and voilà, it's done! The icon appears on the desktop ready to be used.
