Hello,
I would like to know if it’s possible, how can we change the color of the columns in MS Project.
Additionally, I would like to modify the formulas of the duration column so that it is linked to two other columns I created.
If someone can help!!!
Thanks in advance
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 6.0

Hello
For your first question, is it the color of the columns you want to change or the color of the bars in the Gantt chart?
For the question about calculation formulas, you need to use the custom fields (Tools menu => Customize => Fields). -
First of all, thank you for your response.
What I want is to change the colors of the left column (durations, start, end, etc.)
For changing the formulas, I can’t seem to change the formula in the “duration” column "original".
If that isn’t possible, how can I make the duration1 or duration2 column, for example, dimension the task bars?
Thanks in advance.-
Good evening.
Regarding your question about the color of the columns, the possibilities are limited; you can only change the color of the separation lines in "format => grid". It’s not great!
For the bars of the Gantt, I’m more optimistic. First, don’t try to change the calculation formula for the duration column, we don’t have access to it. Then you’re on the right track by using custom fields. I also suggest using date fields: date 1 and date 2, for example. Once you’ve created the formulas that work, go to "format => bar style", add a row, create your own bar style by indicating in the two columns to the right of the table "from" date 1 "to" date 2". If it doesn’t work at first, pay close attention to the positioning of the rows in the table.
Good luck!
Michel- Good evening,
Now that I’ve created a lot of columns, I’d like to know if it’s possible, just like in Excel, to freeze panes. Indeed, I need the names of the visible tasks so I can enter the various data I want into each column.
Also I’d like to know if it’s possible to create a dialog box that would appear when I click on a cell in the Duration 1 column in which I would enter the desired parameters to calculate the duration, so I could delete two columns.
Moreover, the custom columns I created cannot be hidden without losing their name. Each time I’m forced to reinsert the column, find out which “number” it had by looking at the attached formula, then rename it; it’s quite heavy, I find.
Thanks in advance
