Synaptics PS/2 Touchpad not working anymore!!! Solved

Hello,
I have a Packard Bell Easynote SB86-P032W laptop

I regularly play the game PES 2009, but it frequently crashed!! So I updated my graphics card driver last night, and since then there have been no problems with the game. (driver version 7.15.11.6762)

Except this morning, I turn on my PC and my Synaptics PS/2 Touchpad no longer works, but I have an infrared mouse with a USB antenna that works just fine.

I tried to update the driver through the download on the Packard Bell site, but nothing works. I have this error message in "Device Status": This device cannot start. (Code 10)
I had version 9.1.22.0 (or something like that), I upgraded to driver version 10.0.1.0.
I also found version 10.1.8 WHQL at this link

Does anyone have a solution???

For those who have a Packard Bell... Watch out for the lights at the top of the keyboard... touch-sensitive, just brushing against them is enough to disable the touchpad... etc...

Hello everyone!
I have the same problem, and despite hours of research, I haven't solved it either.
My touchpad (on a PackardBell easynote) is not even recognized by the Synaptics software. Yet, I have updated the touchpad drivers and also updated the software...
I don't remember doing anything in the meantime.
I've tried all the keyboard shortcuts: Fn+F7, etc... but nothing works!
If you have any ideas?
Thanks in advance, hoping to solve this problem. :)
(being almost sure that this is a hardware issue...)

Good evening!!! I solved my problem! I reinstalled the drivers and the Synaptics software in a last-ditch effort (lol).
And lucky me, I turned my PC back on the next day and bam, it worked again!!!
So for you, exo, go to the PackardBell website and find your correct EasyNote model. Then, you should normally have a choice of plenty of drivers or software for your PC.
I did that and the first time, nothing worked, but the second time, it was fine.

Here, you choose your EasyNote (if you don’t know the exact model, check the box ;) )
Then, click on Download underneath the picture of your model and you’ll see there are plenty of software or drivers.
Here, you will find in “Mouse” the software you need to install.

Hello,I have the same problem except that I have an HP computer and the FN+F9 key does not do the same thing (http://img.presence-pc.com/dossiers/comp_notebook2/HPc.jpg). In the mouse window, there is no longer the Synaptics P2/2 Touchpad. However, the touchpad light is on. I re-downloaded the drivers, but nothing happened. What should I do? Thank you.

Personally, I had the same problem on a Packard Bell netbook => Fn F7 and everything was fixed.

Hello, I had this problem with a Toshiba Satellite Pro P300-156
model PSPC4E-024015FR

I called Toshiba's technical support, the procedure that worked is

Restart the computer
During the restart press F2 to enter the BIOS

Once you are in the BIOS, press F9, load original settings (or something like that, I don't remember exactly, but it's F9)
Yes to confirm

Then press F10 Save and Quit
Yes to confirm

The computer starts and normally everything is back to normal...

(If the problem persists, make sure that you haven't disabled Synaptics by pressing F9 while the computer is on, it's the key on the Toshiba Satellite Pro model that I have which disables the mouse)
