How to harvest bamboo and rice?

Hello, I have been on the island for 140 days and I really need bamboo but I can't manage to harvest it. I also don't know how to harvest rice! Can someone help me? Thank you in advance!

    Who knows if you're talking about Animal Crossing, or even The Sims 2 (maybe?)
