WiFi driver issue Solved

Question

Hello, good evening.

I'm currently experiencing an issue with one of my PCs. I purchased Wi-Fi cards (Asus PCE-AC56) and once everything is installed (drivers included), the PC does not recognize the installed driver, even when trying several different ones.

The motherboard is an Asus Z97-A, which would mean that Asus does not recognize its own drivers? :/ I am currently at a dead end and I would like to ask for your help to resolve this problem that, I admit, is starting to annoy me.

Hello,

Go to the device manager
Give the hardware ID number of the device
Right-click on the device
Properties
Details tab
Select the hardware ID number.
It's a number that should look like this for example:
--> PCI\VEN_1969&DEV_1026&SUBSYS.......
If needed, check --> here

What do you have in network adapters?

--> Operating system?
--> 32 or 64 bits?

Next, for what you asked me:

Hardware ID (There are 4 on the same hardware, so just in case, I'm listing them all xD):

Operating system: Windows 7 (64-bit)

Note that for the PC I am currently using, everything is identical (except for the network card where one has the "" #2 "" while the other does not) and it works very well ^^ (just the motherboard is not the same)

Download and install --> 7Zip 64 bits  Download this driver --> Broadcom and put it in your documents.  Right-click on --> Broadcom....zip Choose --> 7Zip Choose --> extract to Broadcom......  Go to the device manager Right-click on the device in question Update driver Search for a driver on my computer Browse Go to your documents Go to the unzipped driver folder --> Broadcom..... After doing all that, still nothing.

I have to go through software to configure my wifi network (Asus PCE-AC56 WLAN Control Center), but when I launch it, it keeps telling me "Please connect the ASUS wireless adapter to your computer before running the utility."
But the PC recognizes the wifi card, yet I can't do anything as long as the software hasn't recognized that it is indeed installed.

Still nothing... No alert message. I still uninstalled the driver, restarted, reinstalled, restarted again, and still nothing. I'm at the same point :/

Maybe a problem with the modem?
Is the PC far from or close to the modem?
Is the network cable (Ethernet) properly unplugged?
Lots of devices connected via Wi-Fi?

The PC is very close to the modem for the moment (not even 2 meters away from it). Ethernet cable is well unplugged.
We had 6 devices on the Wi-Fi (which works perfectly) and after removing 2, the problem persists.
At first, I thought it was because of Chrome since as soon as I launched it, the connection would drop, but no, even when doing nothing, it still drops :/
It's just the PC that doesn't want to maintain the connection, but I can't figure out why T-T

Might not be related, but worth a try.  What is the antivirus? Have you tried disabling the antivirus?  Human beings are at their best when things are at their worst.

Sorry for the delayed response. My box had the brilliant idea of burning out due to a storm :/  So, for what you asked me to do, it turned out the same as before. Basically, the PC doesn't recognize the driver. I put everything back the way it was, and now I have the same connection problem that won't stabilize.  As for antivirus, I'm using Microsoft Security Essentials. I tried disabling it and it's still the same.

Run an sfc. Go to start All programs Accessories Right-click on --> Command Prompt Choose --> run as administrator and confirm Type --> sfc /scannow and press enter.  A system file check will take place.  -- Human beings are at their best when things are at their worst.

There were damaged system files but apparently not the ones expected :/ A friend told me it might be a channel issue for the WiFi, but even after changing (and leaving a margin of 2 channels), it didn't change anything :/

Is the wireless icon in the notification area alerting? In the list of networks, does the SSID name appear, that is, your router? If so, have you entered the correct access number?  -- Human beings are at their best when things are at their worst.

The wireless is on alert (No internet connection) only to be off a second later and back on again. (It's alternating) In the list of networks, the computer I'm currently writing on shows the same network name as the one where the wifi isn't working. Everything is identical; it's just that on one it works but not on the other :/

Well, well, well... So, I removed the card from its slot and put it back in another one (just in case). At first, it wasn't working (Asus driver + Broadcom causing a conflict). After uninstalling Broadcom and restarting the PC, the wifi is working xD  In conclusion, I would say that the problem was with the initial slot that wasn't suitable for the wifi card.  So, we can say that the problem is resolved :)  Thanks for your help Kaneagle, and if you happen to be near Lyon, there will be drinks waiting for you :p
