Viber without a SIM card.

Hello,

So, my boyfriend and I both have the iPhone 4 and have downloaded Viber. Currently, in Australia, his plan ends on February 1st. We can't seem to talk to each other with Viber and we're not sure if it's useful without a SIM card... Can you help me?? Thanks in advance...

Hi, I saw on a forum that you need to have the same IPHONE and the same CARRIER for it to work over WIFI.

Yes, since we can call each other outside of Viber... but his plan ends in February. Will that be a problem? Thanks for your help in any case...
