Depuis Intrepid ma résol écran bloquée au min

Bonjour à vous et bonne journée.

Tout d'abord j'aimerais bien savoir comment on déclare qu'un sujet est terminé. J'en ai deux comme ça que j'aimerais bazarder?
Bref.

Je suis sur Linux Ubuntu. J'étais avant-hier sur Hardy Heron et depuis hier je suis sur Intrepid. J'utilise Firefox.

Je suis pasé hier à Ibex. Depuis je n'ai qu'un choix pour la résolution de l'écran: 800x600 (parfois même, c'est sur 600x460 que je suis bloqué). La fréquence de balayage elle-même est bloquée (d'où mal aux yeux et à la tête).
J'ai recherché et installé le paquet nvidia-177 contenant le driver de ma carte graphique (Geforce 7025), mais rien; j'ai utilisé envy mais rien.

De plus,quand j'essaie le gestionnaire de sources, on me dit que mon mot de passe est invalide alors que je suis le seul à avoir touché cet ordi depuis son achat neuf. On m dmande le mot de passe de root mais je n'n ai jamais mis. J'ai juste celui associé à mon compte.

Je commence à pleurer ... Help!

    toujours sous hardy/gutsy mais

    sous hardy/gutsy/dapper tu peux rajouterdans ton /etc/X11/xorg.conf un truc du genre

    hardy = hardy heron
    gutsy c est la version précédente

    déjà tu peux poster la section screen du fichier xorg.conf

    sinon tu ouvre un root le fichier et tu rajoutes la section en comprenant bien que "Configured Video Device" correspond à l'identifier d'une section Device et que "Configured Monitor" correspond à l'identifier d'une section Device

    je te file un xorg.conf de hardy heron mais il est un peu trop compliqué

    ok ca a l air bon

    peux-tu faire un
    sudo apt-get install nvidia-settings
    puis lancer
    sudo nvidia-settings
    ( comme système /administration/nvidai x settings mais en root )
    puis sous x server display configuration dis quelel configurration tu as, essaie en quelques unes et "save to x configuration "

      Salut,

      Non ça ne va pas du tout.

      Mon ordi ne démarre pas complètement. Il s'arrête sur l'écran orange avec le curseur et c'est tout.
      Je suis obligé de démarrer avec le cd d'install de Hardy qui me propose de démarrer à partir de lui sans se servir du système Ubuntu en place.
      Dans ce cas, je me retrouve avec le système du début, adieu les logiciels installés et les favoris. Je vois quand même mes fichiers persos. Et ma résol est toujours bloquée à 600x800!!!

      Que dois-je faire?

    il ne démarre plus ou ne démarre pas
    pourquoi un, disque hardy plutot qu un disque intrepid comme au debut?
    quel écran orange avec lecurseur?
    quand tu es bloqué as-tu accès aux consoles ( ctrl alt F1 ) ?

    remarque:
    quand tu démarre sur le cd, un fichier /etc/X11/worg.conf est créé et est utilisable ( le copier remplacer après l'instalaltion )
    mais tu dis que même avec le cd d'instalation de hardy tu n'es qu'en 800*600?

    tu peux toujjours récupérer ton disque dur si c'est ça qui merde
