Hello,
I need to log into a website for my English classes. I'm browsing with Safari and when I logged in, it gave me a message about a Java Sun Machine error.
I went to the Apple website, downloaded JavaForMacOSX10.4Release6, restarted my computer, and I still have the same error message.
Anybody to help me??? Please!!!
Thank you!!!

Hello,
In the preferences of Safari, or any other browser, you need to enable Java: menu Safari/preferences/Security/check the desired boxes.
And it should work ;-)

Thank you both for your help... but I'm still stuck.
I had already checked the boxes before writing to you and installing the new version from the Apple menu since. It still doesn't work!!!

Hello!
It seems that some files cannot be opened from a browser; you might need to check this page since English holds no secrets for you:
https://developer.apple.com/search/?q=java or read the Mac help of your system.
Sorry, I don't know more, having never had this problem to solve.

Hello Cannelle, I have exactly the same problem with my Safari and the Tell Me More site. And the problem is that Java works under Firefox but not the Tell Me More site!! I'm going in circles...
I have a MacBook Pro running Tiger 10.4.11 and Safari 3.1.2.
I'm seriously starting to despair...
If anyone has a solution... Thanks in advance.

I don't think it's the update because, if its current version were activated, it would have been able to read its document ;-)
Let's just say I assume so because it's free :-)))
