Hello
I rent a gas-heated apartment with a thermostat controlled by a Thermoflash ambient thermostat... there's a small problem, this thermostat is powered by 2 LR6 batteries, but the battery compartment doesn't hold anymore (it's located under the casing and the latch that allows opening and keeping the battery compartment closed is broken), so the batteries don't make good contact anymore and sometimes the thermostat turns off.
My problem is to know if I'm consuming gas uncontrollably when my thermostat is off (and of course, my radiators are off as well). I'm worried about my bill!!!!
Additionally, I would like to replace the broken part of the battery compartment, but I'm not sure if that can be done, and I imagine that completely changing the thermostat will cost me a small fortune... do you have any ideas on what I should do??? I'm afraid the landlords will think I'm responsible for breaking the thermostat and will take my deposits when I return the apartment, even though I'm not at fault, but of course, I can't prove it!
Thank you in advance for your valuable help!
