Solved

Hello,

I have a problem with my keyboard for certain keys. The letters are fine, but symbols like @, _, - or ! are located on different keys. I can't get them back to normal.
It's really annoying: what can I do?

Thank you
Configuration: Windows XP Firefox 2.0.0.14

    Well, I understand...
Indeed, you are Belgian and the Belgian French AZERTY keyboard is different from the French AZERTY keyboard from France.
On a Belgian keyboard, the @ is made with Alt Gr + 2, and the exclamation mark is on the 8 key.

So you need to set the Belgian French keyboard in your regional options:

    - Start Menu, Control Panel
    - Regional and Language Options
    - Language tab, Details button
    - Add button
    - In the drop-down list, choose French (Belgium)
    - Click on the "Key Settings" button and check what the keyboard shortcut is to switch between input languages (it should be left Alt + Shift by default).
    - OK everywhere

Your Belgian keyboard is installed. Press Alt + Shift to use it. It should be better now.
You can even remove the French from France by going back to the regional and language options.

    Does it work?

    Hello,

Check what the regional and language options are in the control panel. The default language may be Belgian French, Swiss, or something else...

    Hello,

    Well, whatever you want!!!! :D)))
But if you are French and used to an AZERTY French keyboard, choose French from France... If you are Canadian, choose Canadian French...

I am Belgian, so I selected Belgian, but it doesn't give me my special characters.
My keyboard is indeed an AZERTY.

When you say "I can't put them back normally," it doesn't make any sense... You need to tell us what "normally" means for you, how you used to make those symbols and how you make them now?

Yes, I understand, sorry for the lack of precision.

So, for example, the at sign is on the 2 key but I can't get it. When I click to make it, another character appears. The exclamation mark is on the 8 key and it's the same...

So it's tough because I can't find them all. I can't locate the at sign on any key.

      Phew, it's hard to explain...
