Mouse issue in PowerPoint

Hello,
I have a problem with my mouse in PowerPoint:
- when I click on an object, it moves by itself
- when I make a multiple selection (with the Ctrl key) the objects are automatically copied.

It's horrible!
Can you please help me?

Thank you
Pascale
Configuration: Windows Vista Internet Explorer 7.0

the solution found in the discussion:
I got this fix from Powerpoint Heaven. Go to program files. Find the Microsoft Office folder. Find the powerpoint.exe file. Select it. Right click and select properties. Check the box that says "Disable desktop composition." It worked! I can't believe it! Who would ever figure that out! Hope it works for you!

See you later!

Thank you very much for this solution! For your information, I encountered this problem when transitioning my machine from Windows XP to Windows 7.

You need to put glue under the objects and they won't move.

I have exactly the same problem, and it's super annoying (and I'm moderating my language -_-)
Does anyone have a solution? I don't know what I did, it happened suddenly, like that, without me having messed around with any options!

You need to disable the themes by checking the box in the PowerPoint runtime properties.

It's true that otherwise it's annoying!

Thank you for this indication, but... where can we find this option? I mean, I've almost thrown my computer out the window 5 times already!
For me, it's as soon as I select more than one object while holding down "CTRL" that it duplicates them. Plus, it's sneaky because it duplicates them exactly on top of each other, so you can't see them until you move them!

To get back to your indication, I've searched in all the tabs of the PwP options, and I can't find the box (I did find something that looked similar, but it didn't change anything!). And strangely, it doesn't happen in Word or Excel (so it's not a problem coming from my Vista config!)

Thanks in advance for all your solutions!

When you make a selection with ctrl, don't move the words ;)
