Launcher.exe at startup

Hello,

I have a HP laptop, and when it starts up, there is a process that launches: launcher.exe. I went to the location of this file, and looking at the properties, it is not a virus; it belongs to the company SoftThinks. Indeed, I have a recovery program (Recovery Manager) installed on my PC that was created by this company. However, this process significantly slows down the startup. When I log in (on Vista), it takes at least 30 seconds before the desktop appears (in the meantime, I am treated to a nice black screen).
I would like to know if I can safely remove this program, as I am afraid that my recovery program might no longer work afterwards...
The question is to know what a "launcher" is for and whether it is essential for the proper functioning of a program.

Thank you in advance.
Configuration: Windows Vista Firefox 2.0.0.14

In French, it means launcher; often applications have a launcher that starts the program that will stay in memory all the time. Deleting the launcher is, in principle, preventing this program from running!
