Soulseek

Hello,

I'm having difficulty using the Soulseek software. I believe it’s probably because I'm behind a router. When I follow the instructions in the Soulseek help section to resolve my issue, I need to open a port. In the procedure, I need to assign a Static IP address to my PC; I usually work with IP addresses that change every time. If I try to assign a Static IP address to my PC, it becomes impossible for me to connect to the internet. Am I doomed to not be able to use this software? Thank you.
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 6.0

if UPnP is checked
there is abnormally no port to open
if a port needs to be opened in the router, the IP address must not change
but this does not prevent going on the internet
for example, for the Neuf Box, you need
128.1.1.47

Hello,

There's nothing to be done, for weeks now I haven't been able to use Soulseek for more than a minute.
My TCP port is properly configured on the Inventel Livebox, as is my Asahampoo firewall...
In fact, a search on SLSK brings up results, but as soon as I grab one, BAM everything freezes, Soulseek turns completely white with "(NOT RESPONDING)"!!!

I've tried everything: reinstalling Soulseek, changing ports, turning off the firewall, with or without UPnP...

Could it be the Livebox and Orange that are blocking it? Yet, eMule works rather well, I don't get it!!!!
By the way, I'm on Wi-Fi... but still.
Please help me.... thanks in advance

Thank you.... I have the latest version of SoulSeek Client 156c and I even tried 157 test 12, it’s the same... a few seconds of operation and everything freezes, yet I even formatted the PC (because of a nasty virus) a few days ago...
I don’t understand, it always worked fine on my machine and now nothing! I’m on Wi-Fi and I also tried with an ethernet cable, pfff nothing!!
I’m so frustrated.

Check if you haven’t installed another software that might be incompatible with Soulseek. You can find the list on the Soulseek website. Another solution: Maybe you had shared folders that you have moved. Try opening Soulseek without connecting (General Options and uncheck “Connect on startup”), then go to File sharing and delete what you are sharing...

Hi Jérémy,

It's really nice of you to respond to this problem that's been going on for months!!!
I just uninstalled the normal version, 156C I think, for the 157 NS, and here we go again, it finds answers, it even loads really well and really fast and BAM! everything freezes 1 minute and 30 seconds later... Yay!
On the other hand, I went to check the folder where the files are saved and they are still loading! I refresh the folder and the few files I managed to grab keep loading anyway!!! But Soulseek is still "NOT RESPONDING"... again.

And I couldn't find the page that lists incompatible software on the Soulseek website, if you had the exact address that would be really cool... I came across it a while ago but none of what I had was listed....

Uh I have eMule that works pretty well, Ashampoo as a firewall and Avira as antivirus.... incompatible? Even with all that disconnected, it's the same...

I also removed the uploads...

Thanks for your help and talk to you soon.

I have a doubt
you don't have the same ports on your other download software
if that's the case, there is a conflict
you need to open different ports

Not all ports are the same.
In fact, I've noticed that when Soulseek freezes, it keeps downloading the files!
And this goes on until the end, but my RAM usage goes up to over 1.5 GB!!! Help!
So still not resolved, I've tried all versions, all ports, all configurations... sniff!
I don't understand anything

Thank you for your help

Pffff.... Hi,

I'm back again because nothing has changed on my side, still a Soulseek that freezes after a minute...
and this despite a new PC, the latest version of Slsk...

However, I reinstalled my famous Avira Antivir on this brand new PC,

Is there a conflict between the two? Or with another software? I haven't found an exhaustive list of incompatible software...
If I disable Antivir, there is still a process in the task manager that can't be removed...

Thanks for your help, it's hard to understand...

my PC: Acer Aspire X1700 Intel Pentium Dual Core - 3 Go - Windows Vista Home...

I use antivirus without any problems.

However, do you not share too many files? It’s really strange to have the same problem with 2 different PCs...

Hi,

I know this has nothing to do with it, but I was wondering why sometimes songs are marked in gray.

When a title is light gray in a search window, it means there are already uploads in progress for the user and you will be placed in the waiting queue. You can see your position by looking at the "In queue" column.

Black: Available immediately
Red: User disconnected

Hello
I just wanted to know:

- If Soulseek is considered a reliable software and authorized under the Hadopi law (if there's a possibility of not getting "caught" =D )
