Hello,

I just received an HP ProCurve 2510 switch. I would like to configure it to assign an IP address and manage it via my web browser.

I am trying to access it using my serial cable and HyperTerminal software, but nothing works... I can't get to the config screen of my switch... :'( I am on Win2k3.

How can I do this??? What am I doing wrong???

Thank you in advance :)
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

Hello
I want to take control of my HP 2810 Switch to configure it...
I don't have the Console cable.. Can we connect via HTML page??
How can I find its default IP?
With Cisco, there is a default accessible IP address, is it the same with HP?

Thank you

Greg

Problem solved by itself :)

Change the bps in the settings of COM1 port and it works :)

Except now, I would like to implement a MAC address restriction on the switch.

Only allow the MAC addresses entered in it to pass through the switch.

Hi,
Could you tell me more about the serial port settings to connect to the switch? I have the same issue.

Il faut que ton terminal soit configuré comme suit :

19200 baud rate
8 bits data
parité : aucune
1 bit de stop
flow control : Xon/Xoff

Tu peux faire ces réglages soit en passant par le gestionnaire de périphériques en sélectionnant le port COM que tu vas utiliser, soit dans le menu setup/serial port de TeraTerm, en espérant t'avoir un peu aidé.

On all the sites, the baud rate is set to 9800 and there is no flow control.
