Hello,
Be careful of scams and cars at attractive prices!!!
I almost got caught myself!
I found a superb C3 Pluriel for 3500 euros on Annoncejaune.fr, I contacted the seller by email to get information about the car. He replied that he was in England and that the car was with a shipping company. He said he was not handling the sale of his car but that I needed to give a first deposit of 1000 euros to this company, and then pay the rest upon delivery of the car. I found that a bit suspicious, so I asked him for the vehicle registration number. He couldn't provide it and gave me a plate number; since I know people in the police, I had an investigation done on this plate. I was able to talk to the actual owner of the vehicle, who confirmed it was indeed his registration number but that he was in no way selling it...
I am going to file a complaint against X, at the BEFTI (Brigade for Investigating Fraud in Information Technology) 122/126 rue du Château des Rentiers 75013 PARIS Tel: 0155752619
I therefore advise you to do the same if you don’t want others to get scammed!!!

I almost got scammed today too...
I found an ad on leboncoin.fr where a woman posted an ad for a chihuahua.
So I sent her an email to ask how much she wants for the chihuahua and she replies that she is now in Africa with her 4-month-old puppy and that he can't stand the heat, so to avoid leaving him to die, she is giving him away...
I already found that a bit weird!
So I sent her my details so she could give them to her shipping company.
And then I received an email from the shipping company expresscargo delivery saying they have the puppy and that I need to send 97€ for the puppy to be delivered.
It clicked and I remembered that I had read about scams like that before.
So there you go, it's ridiculous because it gives false hope to people like me who have dreamed of having a chihuahua since I was little...

"Air Cargo express," "shipping company," and I can imagine many other names of carriers for these scams. Thanks to your testimonials, I sensed the trap for the sale of digital cameras as well. When it comes to money, they would sell their father and mother. Be careful. It's really a big scam on the internet.
I am also trying to be sold a digital camera. I was already very suspicious from the start given the very (too) interesting price and the excuses given to justify it.
The ad was on Le Bon Coin, in a small town in Limousin; the so-called woman is supposed to live in London but preferred to send the item to me rather than have me pick it up in person in England. The payment, which is supposed to go to a company (the well-known Air Max Europe Express, not even listed on search engines, quite suspicious), is actually a transfer to a private account.
Anyway, I'm going to the police station tomorrow to file a complaint.

Hello,
can you provide me with information because I am supposed to receive a car from Benin with the company (cargo express) and not air cargo express, but I have doubts and fears of being scammed. A priest is donating this car to me.
When I enter the number to track the order, it automatically disconnects me. What should I do, please?

A piece of advice: do nothing anymore, stop everything!!! It's the Romanians who steal people's identities, get fake passports made; when they give you the vehicle registration, it never matches the car you saw in the photo. Unfortunately for them, the case is now in the hands of the police because I am the daughter of a cop!!! Now, if you want to get taken in, because everything they send you seems good to you, then go ahead but don’t come crying afterwards!!!
Hello
I just read your message, which made me extremely happy because you say that the case is in the hands of the police. I was also scammed by a nearly identical company, Worldglobal Cargo, whose website no longer exists.
I sent 3000 euros (half of the amount requested) to reserve the car. I was supposed to receive it within 3 to 4 days and keep it for 10 days to try it out, and if I liked it, I would send the second part. But when I sent the first part and reported the references of my Western Union transfer (which they asked for), I received an email a few hours later (once they had retrieved the money sent to an address in London) asking me for the second part, and the car would be at my doorstep within 24 hours. That's when I started to doubt. After a few requests for clarification regarding their change of position, they told me they changed the policy because often people receive the car and keep it without sending the rest of the money. So now, everything has to be paid upfront, and then the car will be delivered that same day. I told them I disagreed and asked for a refund, but they never responded, and the site disappeared.
I filed a complaint, but the police made it clear to me that the case would probably go unresolved. I left the police station feeling disheartened and desperate.
Please let me know if the police have really taken the complaints of all these scammed people into consideration, and if we are going to be reimbursed. Your email has given me hope because your father is a police officer, and you are aware of this case.

Hello, whether it's Air Cargo Express or Cargo Express, for me, they are the same scammers. They ask for your address to finalize the shipment and then ask you to pay for the delivery of your package. It’s always the same procedures with a fake website that they have invented themselves. They are clever, aren’t they? My advice is, don’t trust them!!!
Hello Luchessi, I wanted to thank you for your response regarding this cargo express scam. I contacted the priest and he told me that he had to pay 100 euros to retrieve the car and that he would look for another company to send me the car. I will give you the name of the other transport company.
Thanks again.
P.S.: How did you come to know about this scam?

I called the fraud department to report the issue. I’m not sure they can do much, but fortunately, there are these forums.
I was also offered to complete the sale through aircargo express... Anyway, be careful.

But there’s something I have a hard time understanding...
who is ready to buy a car, I repeat a CAR, not a little thing... without seeing it first or even trying it...
because, already, we can get 'scammed' by paying a lot for a car that only holds together thanks to the paint, so just imagine buying a car without seeing it, it’s absurd.
buying a car is definitely a local purchase.

In order for the car to be nice enough for me to buy it without seeing it, then the deal would be so suspicious that I wouldn’t take the risk.
We also have to put ourselves in the seller's shoes... what is the interest for the seller in selling their car on the other side of the world? If the deal is so good, they will find nearby buyers without any effort.
As my philosophy teacher used to say: everything that is rare costs a lot, a cheap horse is rare, therefore a cheap horse costs a lot...
(and it works the same way with cars)

IN THE AD I SAW FOR A 2003 PASSAT AT 4400 EUROS, I CALLED AND GOT A FAKE NUMBER, BUT THERE WAS ALSO A WEBSITE ONLINE. I CONNECTED WITH "X" IN ENGLAND (WHAT WAS SUSPICIOUS IS THAT THE LICENSE PLATE IS FROM 68: FRENCH). HE TOLD ME HE WOULD DROP OFF THE CAR AT AIRCARGO EXPRESS AND THAT I NEED TO SEND 1320 EUROS IN MONAY GAM AND THE REST UPON DELIVERY. DOES THIS SOUND LIKE YOUR SCAM? I REALLY THINK I ALMOST GOT SCAMMED JUST LIKE YOU. THANK YOU FOR THE AD.
Thank you for these comments
a friend and I were looking for cars at interesting prices and then we came across this site
of course we sent quite a few emails to the sellers and always got the same response, there was always something wrong. It often involved Doctors Without Borders, I still think these scammers go too far because they use the image of professions like this to lie and enrich themselves. I'm fed up!!!

Hello, I also need to be given a car, people are telling me it's in Corsica and the transport company is Cargo Express Transport. I've read your ad and now I have serious doubts. What should I do? Do you know if I have the right to refuse any payment since I was told the car is free? Thank you anyway for publishing this ad.
Re hello Dawn.
Of course, you have the right to refuse payment even if the car is free. I understand that it's annoying, especially since it's a gift. I had the same problem as you; I was supposed to receive a car, but the person is in Africa and it's definitely a scam. The best for car donations is to check that the people live in France and take the train to go pick it up, and it will cost much less than shipping. It's important to verify that the person leaves their phone number and check with them.
Have a nice day @ everyone!

An attractive ( borderline suspicious) ad on paruvendu.fr
A 206 CC for €3800.
I sent an email to the seller, who replied immediately. He speaks very poor French. We switched to English: no better!!
He claims to work in England, and I need to provide him with my details to complete the transaction.
And.... I stumbled upon your forum.
Thank you all because thanks to your forum, I avoided losing money...
THANK YOU!!!;-)

Hello, I found a vehicle reselling ad on vivastreet.fr, the vehicle is a Clio 3 with 18,500 km for a price of €4,200! I contacted this person by email and asked for more information about this car! He explained to me that everything was done through the company AIR CARGO EXPRESS! I then looked into this company and I am glad to have come across your message! Thank you!
Hello,
I was ready to buy a French car from an Englishman who has returned to England. I am researching the shipping company that is supposed to handle this car, so Cargo Express, and I stumbled upon your forum.
For my part, I have the registration number of the car, the seller also took a photo of the car's maintenance book where I can see the specifications sheet of this car and the stamp of the garage that serviced this car along with their contact details. He even sent me a photocopy of the registration document, but it is blurry. Since I saw you mention that I should ask for the seller's identification, I just requested it, so I'm waiting!! But the more I read on the forum, the more I think I won’t receive it. I haven't paid anything yet, I just received an email from Air Cargo Express saying "This transaction will be protected by www.leboncoin.fr."
The seller says he will cover the delivery costs, I have his contact details.
I have a loading identity number for the vehicle.
And the payment receiver's contact details (payment via Western Union).
I even have a tracking number for the car.
It all seems so serious!! But the doubt is too strong, so what do you think???????

Hello, it just happened to me. Yesterday, I saw a nice 4x4 with my friend and I sent an email to see if it was possible to see the car. In the afternoon, he sent me a message of more than 3 pages telling me all about his life, how he was a doctor and how he was giving away 2 cars. And in the end, this morning I received a call and they told me that the car was on the port from May and that they were just waiting for my first payment of 495 euros to be sent by Western Union, and that I had to tell the post office that it was for my family, otherwise I would pay 7 times more!
I couldn't believe it, so I searched online looking for the name of this "supposed" company and I came across this site, and I thank you all!
I immediately called my friend to tell him all about it.
Thank you, luckily there are sites like this, otherwise there would be millions of people who would be fooled!
Thanks to everyone!!!!

Don't think that I don't believe you, quite the opposite, I stopped everything. I just find them inflated and very cunning.
With another email address, I contacted him asking only if the Seat Altea was still available (even though I had never contacted him under this identity) and the guy replied yes and sent me the first message written in French from Romania he had sent me. Hihihi. I sent him a salty email telling him he could shove it!
If anyone wants the emails from this person, I've saved them all. If it can help someone who hasn't had the luck to find this site before getting scammed, feel free to ask me for them.
Good luck with your car search and procedures.

Hello, I received 2 offers on webcarcenter that I studied: a 206 cc for €2500 from Benin and a 307 cc for €4000. I almost made a deal for the 307 cc, but I stumbled upon the forum. Thank you very much, my famous interlocutor doesn't speak French well and I still don't know his name if it's Michel, Alain, or Demetrius Georgios, lol, or recently... I would like to know all the emails he uses.
Hello, like all of you, they tried, but I ended up on this forum. It started with an Audi A3 S-Line, 59,700 km for 4,000 euros. There is a phone number, and on the answering machine, it says it’s sold, while the so-called seller tells me that the company has sent it, but I need to send 2,000 euros. His name is Dimitrius Georgios, and he is in England. He’s selling it because for him it’s hard to drive with the steering wheel on the left in the left lane supposedly. The same thing happened to me with an Eos for 12,000 euros, also in England. Above all, don't send anything.
A week ago, I found a yellow ad for an Audi A3, but unfortunately, it's in England. The seller tells me that I have to go through air cargo express to receive the car, but before that, I need to wire him 2000 euros via (MoneyGram). And when I tell him that I will pay the full amount of 4000 euros only upon receipt at the transporter, he threatens to call the police and take us to court.
This story is completely crazy; these Romanians are really something else.
However, when I tell him that my parents have good lawyers, he immediately changes his tone and starts playing the family drama card.

Hello everyone!
Great idea with the forum! It will prevent others from getting scammed.
I had exactly the same experience as you, except it was for a 307 CC. I’m posting the entire email below so you can better expose this gang of wooden thieves.
Email to read from bottom to top:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
END
I don’t want your fictitious car anymore! Nice try, but you missed your shot!
The link to your scam: http://www.commentcamarche.net/forum/affich 4658675 air cargo express
P.S.: Your email, your IP address which I have also noted, your fake identity card (Comic Sans MS font) will be reported to the police after investigation.
Scam failed!
If you don’t make the payment, the company won’t deliver the car. Understand? Because that's the rule. It's not my rule, it's the company's rule. They guarantee your money so don’t worry. It's not my problem that MoneyGram advised you. Tonight, go to the Western Union office and send 2000 euros to the agent of the company at the provided name and address. I’m waiting for your email with the transfer details, and on Friday, an agent will deliver the car to your home. I promise you. Okay? Thank you.

There’s no way I’ll pay 2000€ without seeing the car! A MoneyGram advisor strongly advised me against it. I will only pay you the 2000€ upon delivery of the vehicle.
I’m waiting for your email. Thank you.

Hello,
Please don’t worry because I am an honest person. Here’s a copy of my ID. The company guarantees your money and my car. Please, do not worry. The MoneyGram office is closed. Please now go to the Western Union office and send 2000 euros to the company agent's name and address. After the money is sent, please send me all the transfer details and on Friday an agent will deliver the car to your home. The rest of the money you will pay me after you receive the money on 24/07/2008, no problem. I’m waiting for your email. Thank you.

Dear Sir,
Having closely read the safety rules regarding payer protection, they recommend this:
• It may be too good to be true. Research thoroughly before sending money in response to a newspaper or magazine ad for airline, concert or similar tickets. The same is true for offers of loans or credit cards where you are asked to send money for fees before signing any documents. Be suspicious of very cheap deals. MoneyGram cannot ensure that the goods or services you are paying for will be received.
I can have the 2000€ today, that’s not a problem for me, however, please be aware that I will only pay the 2000€ when I see the car, just a matter of precaution.
I can also assure you that I am an HONEST person and I hope that it goes both ways.
Rest assured that I will not default regarding payment.
Sincerely,

How do you have the money on 24/07/2008? Are you an honest person? I paid 450 euros to send you the car. Now the car is under the custody of the company agent. Maximum in 2-3 days you need to pay 2000 euros to receive the car. Understand? Because that is the company’s rule. Now you're telling me that you have the money on 24/07/2008? I’m very sorry for you, but this deal is not a joke and the company does not wait 20 days for you to give the money. I need to be paid 2000 euros now and the rest of the money on 24/07/2008. Please talk to your family or friends and resolve the problem. I’m waiting for your email as soon as possible. Thank you.

I will deliver the car to your personal address for more money, only for the price of 4000 EUR.
I’m selling the car because I live in England and it’s difficult to handle a car with the steering wheel on the left, as you already know.
All the documentation is in order, transferred to my name, no problems, perfect engine, plates, and paint. The shipping of the car and registration in your name is handled by an insurance transportation company. With this company, you can see and check the car before actually buying it.
You have 3 days for all this and a maximum of 500 km to drive the car in your country and decide. During the trial period, you can take it to a mechanic in your city to check the engine and everything else.
It works like this:
- I will leave the car with the company.
- The company will review all the papers with the agency to see if everything is legitimate before the delivery occurs.
- Later, once everything is checked and there are no problems, the company will get in touch with you.
- The company I’m using to send you the car takes care of all transport papers and absolutely everything. They will be responsible for everything.
If you're interested, please provide me with your data and today or tomorrow I can start the transaction with you:

Hello,
I would like to reach out regarding your ad posted on the pricemaster.fr website about your 307 CC. I saw that you were offering it for 3999€.
Is this an auction, or does the car have any mechanical issues?
Could you tell me more about your vehicle and the details of the sale?
Sincerely,
BEGIN

I also want to mention that he scanned his driver's license for me... I will post his FAKE driver's license (Font type on his ID: Comic Sans MS... laughing my head off) so that everyone can have a glimpse of the scam.
So, if he...
Great idea with the forum! It will prevent others from getting scammed.
I had exactly the same experience as you, except it was for a 307 CC. I’m posting the entire email below so you can better expose this gang of wooden thieves.
Email to read from bottom to top:

I don’t want your fictitious car anymore! Nice try, but you missed your shot!

Thank you.

Dear Sir,
Having closely read the safety rules regarding payer protection, they recommend this:

Sincerely,

I was offered a 3-month-old female Chihuahua puppy for free, supposedly named LISA.
The person asked for my details and then we received several calls from BENIN.
They told me that the puppy was ready to go, but that I first had to pay 97 euros to complete the ownership transfer, whereas these papers are completely free in France. They are harassing me to send a money order to a personal account starting Monday morning, which I refuse because if a legitimate company needed something, it would be to a company account!
In short, they told me the puppy had to leave tomorrow morning and that I could pay upon arrival, but then they insisted that I had to send the money before the puppy was sent, meaning at 8 AM, and that the puppy would arrive at my home at 2 PM.
I did some research and it is strictly forbidden to send any animal by parcel or otherwise from one country to another!!!! The person is named Mlle MIGNOLET LINDA NELLY, but in fact, it’s a man living in Porto Novo in Benin.... They don’t realize the harm they are causing us because I have also dreamed of a Chihuahua for several years! I empathize with your sorrow...
The person had 2 chihuahuas, 1 male and 1 female, and she couldn't keep them because her daughter was hospitalized in Nice. She herself is in Nice. My daughter also contacted this lady for the second dog and strangely, she is now in Brest.
