In Word, I want to type text on a dotted line like this without everything shifting.

That way, when I write, the line simply shrinks.

Now, if you still want to have the points under the text, then instead of doing what I said before, you tabulate without changing anything, and you select the line, then right-click -> Font -> Underline -> Dots.

Just create a tab in the ruler and press TAB to align with it. Then, double-click on the tab sign (in the ruler) and check “leader dots” in the box that appears...

How to type over existing text?
In the Tools menu, click on Options, then on the Editing tab.

To replace existing text while typing, check the Overwrite Mode box.
Tip To quickly switch between Insert mode and Overwrite mode, double-click RFP in the status bar. (When RFP is grayed out, Insert mode is activated; when RFP is bold, Overwrite mode is activated.)

Good evening,  If it's to make the fill of your shape transparent: Right-click on it and select 'auto shape format', in the 'colors and lines' tab choose 'no fill' for the color. eric
