Hello,
I've been trying to install my EPSON Stylus DX4400 Series printer for a week now... Without success...
Indeed, when the installation program asks me to connect the printer, I do so but it doesn’t detect it :'(
Moreover, when I plug it in, Windows detects it and offers to install:
- "USB Composite Device"
- then later "USB Printing Support"
But neither works :S
The installation ends with "file not found"
When I go to Device Manager, I see this:
When the printer is not plugged in:
https://i18.servimg.com/u/f18/11/22/02/17/710.jpg
When I plug it in:
https://i18.servimg.com/u/f18/11/22/02/17/810.jpg
Then, I click "reinstall driver"
https://i18.servimg.com/u/f18/11/22/02/17/910.jpg
This results in:
https://i18.servimg.com/u/f18/11/22/02/17/210.jpg
A "USB Printing Support" (or "USB Printing Support" – it’s the same thing...) gets installed...
Then I click "reinstall driver":
https://i18.servimg.com/u/f18/11/22/02/17/310.jpg
And this results in:
https://i18.servimg.com/u/f18/11/22/02/17/410.jpg
So I end up with this:
https://i18.servimg.com/u/f18/11/22/02/17/510.jpg
And then, miraculously, O great miracle, IT WORKS:
https://i18.servimg.com/u/f18/11/22/02/17/610.jpg
BUT admit that doing this every time we turn the printer or computer back on is ANNOYING
That’s why I’m asking where the problem comes from?
PS: I've been searching for a while and found a few things like reinstalling the drivers "usbprint.sys, usbprint.inf, etc...", setting "c:/windows/inf" as the link to the drivers... And other tips and tricks... But in the end, it didn’t work ^_^'
Thank you very much in advance =D
