Windows 11 version 26H2

-

hello

I have a Dell brand PC that works well with Windows 11 Home - version 25H2

however, I would like to upgrade to 26H2

but it’s not possible because it says this PC is not compatible with Windows 11!

Is there any way to still install 26H2?

what do you think

thanks in advance

    Hello

Without complications, method 1 to move from 25H2 to 26H2:

    Simple and fast.

    1. Hello,

Contrary to 24, 26 does not innovate in any way in terms of hardware capabilities, nor much in the rest: it is only a few cosmetic revisions, the update is very brief and merely activates these modifications that have been gradually integrated into Windows 25H2.

If the PC was forced to Windows 11, it is possible that these updates do not occur as a result, and you must then install 26H2 from the ISO on a USB drive by forcing the update as has already been done.

        Hello,

Create a registry file (.REG) from a text file (Rather than .TXT) by displaying file extensions, or saving as > Type: All files with a name ending in .reg rather than .txt with the text in bold saved in

        Ex: AllowUpgradesWithUnsupportedTPMOrCPU.REG

        Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

        [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\MoSetup]
        "AllowUpgradesWithUnsupportedTPMOrCPU"=dword:00000001

And run it by double-clicking it, and accepting the risks.

        Restart Windows...

Download the Windows 11 26H2 ISO

When you have the ISO file, right-click > Open with > Windows Explorer

        Then click on setup.exe

Follow the instructions to "install" without erasing everything, so that the brackets showing you keep everything are OK.

        1. Hello.

Warning, an experience from 5 days ago on a Latitude 5320:

The PIN I used to log in could not be found by Win11. Since I couldn't remember the password, a difficult manipulation with utilman.

Another detail, Microsoft allows itself to delete a number of settings such as default apps (all web apps replaced by Edge)!
