Fundamentally, whether a PC with Office 2016 or 2019 is affected by the bug or not, they have no updates or support since October 2025, which does not mean they don’t work.
The article offers no remedy except, of course, that Microsoft will probably publish a fix after it paused deployment.
In the meantime, and if this automated update was installed, there is no report anywhere on how to uninstall it.
We are supposed to reactivate by entering the license code again; it’s impossible for online low-cost licenses activated by automated phone, there is only breaking the bank for another license.

We cannot disable the Office Click to Run service without which it does not work.
Disable updates in the Office account.
In addition, add another layer to the scheduled tasks, disable each item and then the overall task at least for Automatic Updates and Features Updates, and preferably everything except, of course, Click To Run.
