Hello, I just bought a Huawei Pura 80 Pro, I am very satisfied with the cameras but I would like to be able to install apps like WhatsApp, Signal, Telegram; Itsme; Facebook, Messenger, Telegram, YouTube.... etc. Is it possible? And what is the best method??? Thank you

    Hello,

    You just have to search for the application in question and go to the right place to install it afterward; I don’t see where the difficulty lies. An example here with the WhatsApp application, and the same for the other apps!

    when you can’t or don’t want to use Google Play, you switch to apkpure, but that doesn’t mean apps that are too tied to Google will work.

    For more technical apps, I recommend F-Droid.

      Well, hmm...

      The problem isn’t really there (or not yet) for the average person.

      We don’t know on what criteria people buy which brand or which model of phone, perhaps not even the price; competition is fierce in every niche except for real or alleged "exceptional promotion," the notoriety of a given brand...

      But clearly in the case we’re interested in they don’t go any further, the American embargo on Huawei and its consequences are known although the author acquired it by making a Burger-Menu-like catalog of all the GAFAM apps he wants to use.

      Hi,

      Personally, it’s political motivation: I’ve always found the U.S. sanctions against Huawei unjust because they were starting to surpass Apple in smartphone sales and they were better than everyone else in 5G telephony products.

      As a result Huawei split into several sub-brands, Chinese mobile networks are advancing while ours have stagnated in technology for 5 years.

      When 6G arrives, they will still be twice as far ahead.

      Currently Huawei is pushing on components for AI that will crush those that Trump did not want to sell them, a real gap is being created in the middle of the Pacific in the telecom and IT world and the poor Europe wonders how to break away from the American train.

      The anti-competitive sanctions case against Huawei began in 2019 but continued into 2022, while the anti-espionage sanctions (which concerned routers and not phones) began in 2020 and have also continued since.

      Trump, which is certainly a caricature, was not in charge for the whole period and, for example, Obama, whom everyone praised on this side of the Atlantic, himself implemented a protectionist policy (if not the imperialist one of the Monroe Doctrine): the American doctrine has always been liberalism for what is American, but its opposite for everything else.

      Absolutely yes, the destructive American policy isn’t limited to Trump, alas. But it took until 2026 for Europe to realize the danger. China didn’t need a figurehead; for a long time they understood that globalization had to be one-way with the US. Since then they’ve armed themselves (economically, but not only) and developed an absolute determination not to tolerate bullying.

      We are continually told that only a federal Europe would have enough power, notably economically, to oppose it, but that is a chimera that no one wants, at least not in the same terms.
